Ready Set Go Bags Women, Men and Children

Anna's Mission provides Ready, Set, Go Bags containing personal hygiene items to community, college, emergency services, and church groups for distribution to survivors of domestic violence.

The contact person then has the prepared bag ready to go when the person leaves the situation quickly.

In Search Of

people to sew the cloth bags for the “Ready, Set, Go” Bags for Domestic Violence survivors. 

Quilters and sewers, here is an opportunity to bust your stash of fat quarters! 

Our drawstring backpack bags are usually made with two fat quarters to create a bag that is approximately 16 1/2" x 21" bag with buttons or grommets, and with shoestrings, cord, or rope as straps. There are many great resources online (especially YouTube) for free patterns.

 Anna's does not require that the bags be this specific size, but we will accept any type of cloth bags that will hold a set of toiletries such as shampoo and conditioner, comb, brush, toothbrush, etc., plus a small Bible and a prayer scarf/shawl.

In Search Of 

 knitters and crocheters!

We are looking for wonderful people to make prayer shawls or scarves to add to Ready, Set, Go Bags to be distributed to Domestic Violence survivors who may have left their situation quickly.  

 We do not require a particular size, pattern, or yarn.  We only ask that the scarves be around 5 inches wide by 4 or 5 feet long.

Please use yarn that is washable.

Each stitch on the scarf or prayer shawl is a prayer for the recipient. So remember that while your fingers are at work, you’re sending positive vibes, happiness, and joy to the person you’re creating it for.  It truly makes a difference because they feel the warmth being sent to them. They hold onto it tightly, and know that something so special was made just for them to get through something so challenging in their life.

During the colder months we also welcome donations of hats and scarves for women, children, men, or prayer shawls.  You are welcome to use any pattern and yarn of your choosing.
